Multiple individuals sustained injuries following a shooting incident at a Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grand Blanc, Michigan, authorities reported on Sunday. Concurrently, the church building caught fire and was seen emitting significant smoke as firefighters responded to the scene.
Emergency crews including fire trucks and ambulances were present near the site, actively combating the blaze and providing medical assistance. Video footage circulating on social media captured dense smoke rising from the premises.
The Grand Blanc Township Police Department confirmed via a Facebook statement that "there are multiple victims and the shooter is down. There is no threat to the public at this time. The church is actively on fire," and advised residents to avoid the vicinity for their safety.
